This past week, Infiniti began production of new 2018 model year Q50 sports sedans at their Tochigi, Japan plant. Why is this significant? Because the 2018 model is the first time the sedan will receive two different exterior appearances, which seems very un-Infiniti. Apparently, in an effort to distinguish sportier Q50s from the more luxury-focused ones in the model lineup, Infiniti designers and engineers have spent significant time fettling with the modular body and interior pieces.
In a recent statement from Infiniti, “The Q50 is Infiniti’s best-selling model. Since the first generation went on sale in 2013, INFINITI has sold close to 210,000 units worldwide. In 2016 Infiniti achieved more than 230,000 global sales—a 7% year-on-year increase and a new global sales record—with the Q50 sports sedan accounting for one-third of the brand’s total.
You should start to see the refreshed vehicles in your local dealer showrooms later this summer.
