GT2 RS: These four letters and a number are synonymous with an ominous nickname stemming from what this Porsche can do to wives everywhere if driven unskillfully by their husbands.
Appropriately nicknamed “Widowmaker,” the new 911 model unveiled recently at the E3 Conference in Los Angeles is slated to pack a 640 horsepower twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat six nuclear bomb in the rear. It’s the most powerful road-going 911 ever made (sorry 2018 Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series).
Any other details about the car have been kept under lock and key by the crypt-keepers at Porsche. The result is speculation by enthusiasts and automotive journalists, alike. With an output measurement as big as 640 horsepower, we are certainly left with a lot of questions. Will a manual be available? Sub-3-second 0-60 mph time? Overdone Nurburgring lap record?
The new GT2 RS was unveiled alongside the hotly anticipated Forza Motorsport 7 where the Widowmaker will be featured on the cover.
As soon as we learn more, we’ll be sure to share.
